What We Did While staying in Orlando, we did a day trip to Siesta Key. Growing up we visited Siesta Key often. It was so fun to be able to visit again. We packed picnics and drove the 2.5 hours to Siesta Key from Orlando. We parked at the Siesta Key main beach parking lot, because we wanted to have access to restrooms and showers. We ate our picnic lunches in the parking lot and then hit the beach. This beach is beautiful. It is so wide! The sand is powdery white. Sanibel Island, FL
We spent a few days at Sanibel Island in the middle of May 2022. We really enjoyed the “old Florida” feel of the island. It is so peaceful and not crowded in most places. We spent most of our time in Sanibel relaxing on the beach and in the pool near our hotel. The beach is very pretty and we had great luck finding seashells here. We saw quite a few live sand dollars. We know they should be left in their homes and did not take any with us, but it was amazing to see them. The beach was not crowded and the hotel provided umbrellas and chairs. We…
