What We Did While staying in Orlando, we did a day trip to Siesta Key. Growing up we visited Siesta Key often. It was so fun to be able to visit again. We packed picnics and drove the 2.5 hours to Siesta Key from Orlando. We parked at the Siesta Key main beach parking lot, because we wanted to have access to restrooms and showers. We ate our picnic lunches in the parking lot and then hit the beach. This beach is beautiful. It is so wide! The sand is powdery white. Crayola Experience, Orlando FL
Our first day in Florida we visited the Crayola Experience. It is a fun place to visit with multiple activities inside. There is a general admission cost to get in and a couple of optional add on experiences. It worked well for our large, multi-generational travel group. There were plenty of places to sit and rest as needed, but also an active play area for younger kids. And who doesn’t enjoy coloring and creating with Crayola products?! Animal Kingdom & Hollywood Studios – 10.20.22
Today included a dance workshop, some relaxing Animal Kingdom time, and a fun visit to Hollywood Studios. This Thursday started with a dance workshop for my girls and a visit to Animal Kingdom for me and my husband. The girls were away for about 4 hours for their workshop. My husband and I decided to go to Animal Kingdom during that time. We were mostly interested in wandering around, soaking up the atmosphere, and taking pictures. This day was a transition day from our first couple days to the dance portion of our trip. After a late night flight and an early morning start to a full park day, we needed some sleep this morning. We all slept in, got ready, and took a ride share to our next hotel with our luggage. After getting settled into our new room at Disney’s Coronado Resort, we spent the rest of this day relaxing and traveling around Walt Disney World. We were able to combine a vacation at one of my very favorite places, Walt Disney World, with an amazing dance opportunity for our daughters in October of 2022. We spent 10 days in “the world” split between vacation time and dance time. We arrived in Orlando late at night on Monday, October 17th.
